- Zachary Chabala
Raised in a small rural town in the mountains of Northeastern PA, Zach’s interest in weather began at a young age. He was fascinated with all aspects of weather from summertime thunderstorms to winter snowstorms but it wasn’t until the Valentine’s Day Blizzard of 2007 that he knew he wanted to become a meteorologist. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Meteorology from Penn State in 2017, he joined the WeatherWorks staff in the summer of the same year. In addition to day-to-day forecasting and client briefings, he also assists in collecting past weather data for forensic reports.
Outside of work, Zach is a diehard sports fan and religiously watches and obsesses over Penn State sports, the Eagles, the Phillies, and NASCAR. Zach is also an avid outdoorsman and can usually be found in a trout stream with his fly rod or on a bass boat in the middle of a lake on his days off. In any extra spare time he has, you can find him playing classic rock or country music on his guitars.
