The Expert Meteorologists At Weather Works can assist in all matters of Forensic Meteorology or weather litigation.  The work completed can be as easy as answering a simple past weather question or preparing a detailed interpretation and reconstruction of the past weather events that affect your case.  Our services include: weather expert testimony, site inspections, certified weather reports, certified weather data and review of adversarial expert reports and testimony.

30+ Years Weather Experience and Expertise:  Leading our staff of expert forensic meteorologists is Frank Lombardo, who has received the distinguished and nationally recognized Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) designation by the American Meteorological Society.  Our expert meteorologists have worked on more than 1000 cases nationally, providing past weather reports and specific answers to questions posed from law firms, insurance companies and engineering firms.

Types of Forensic Meteorology Reports: Weather Works can prepare site specific, easy to read and understand forensic weather reports, providing the extent of details and analysis you require. Typical forensic weather reports we have done in the past include: slip and falls, personal injury, auto accidents, lighting conditions, lightning strikes, property damage, floods, high winds and contract extensions or disputes.

A Quick Forensic Weather Report  includes a site specific, brief narrative and easy to understand table of the significant weather conditions for the period you selected as well as for several days prior.  The most common weather parameters summarized are: temperatures, precipitation amounts, sky condition, wind, residual snow and ice cover on ground surfaces, sunrise and sunset.  These reports can often be generated the same day of request.

The Comprehensive Forensic Weather Report  provides a detailed summary of the past weather for the period you require and for days or weeks prior.  Supplemental data; such as, adversarial expert reports, depositions, interrogatories, police reports, site inspections, etc., will be thoroughly analyzed and reviewed.  In addition, we will provide expert opinions regarding the specific meteorological and scientific evidence affecting your case.

Certified Weather Data:  Any weather data presented as evidence in court should be certified.  The weather data we reference is certified by the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC).  The highest form of certification the NCDC offers is a two part certification under the Seal of the United States Department of Commerce with blue ribbon.   This type of certification is signed by both the NCDC Records Custodian and the NCDC Director as the Certifying Officer.  The certification of the past weather data can be provided with or without any meteorological interpretation.  Please call and consult with us on costs.

Weather Expert Witness Testimony:  Our Weather expert can also serve as an expert witness in court, arbitration hearings and depositions.  Please call and consult with us on costs.
