2009 - 2010 SNOW SPOTTER NETWORK

Welcome to the 5th edition of the Weather Works Snow Spotter Network! This season we are looking for spotters from across the country to report snowfall totals! WeatherWorks uses many of YOUR reports to help with evaluating current conditions and creating a post-storm snow analysis of each event. Remember, there is no cost to join! Sign-up at the bottom of the page!

  • After each snowfall, spotters are asked to log-in to the Snow Spotter Network and post the snowfall measurement for your town.

  • The most important step in the snow measuring process is to submit data in a TIMELY fashion, as soon as the measurement is taken, please send in the data at the computer. Otherwise your valuable snowfall information could be overlooked!

  • This is a great experience for schools and science classes! Students will be able to participate in volunteer work for science, along with learning about real-world applications in science (the challenges of snow measuring).

  • Be sure to check out this brief, 2 minute Presentation on how to accurately measure snow

  • If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Snow Spotter Network Coordinator Sean Rowland via phone (800)-427-3456 or email (seanrowland@weatherworksinc.com)
